MEMORIAL WHISPER
Memorial Day launched its whisper to the sky
and another lies in wait on the mountaintop
beneath the bleached mass of atonement.
O! I am determined by our failing
to nurture the patriot tree
until we can climb near to God!
Near enough to ask,
“Is this your desire?”...
Near enough so that the question
needn’t even be uttered,
just near enough
to see the river’s flow.
O! I am determined by our failing
to nurture this; our flag-waving heap
beyond the gaze of God!
Beyond the flow of the deity’s torrent!
Beyond this; our notion of existence!
Higher! O! Onward! Higher still!
Carry them aloft! Reverently lay these;
our strident armed forces of war and peace!
We can have it both ways you know;
write our storm’s name across the sky
and climb beyond the stare of God!
O! I am determined by our failing!
Indomitable of our worshipful peak!
Joy filled by our divine reaching
to build, amass, pile, mound, and stack!
We’ll have surpassed the mournful eyes
and soon be able to look down
upon the brazen head of God
and declare ourselves the victor!
O! I am determined by our failing
to nurture the patriot tree
until we can climb beyond God!
Higher! O! Onward! Higher still!

It is with a slow strangling
that tongues wag of gods.
And that floods come their raging,
tumbling between valleys,
seizing what’s in font of them
and not what’s prepared to go.
Each tongue’s a star.
Behold the light
quaking against the teeth.
Behind them whirl grand dreams;
tiny gods treading the water,
holding tight to hovering rooftops,
seeing familiar parchment drown
next to a child’s stuffed animal,
tiny eyes wet with grief
knowing it will float,
drift out to some sea
into a far-off port
worshipped by a child
wrapped in chains.

God.
We said nothing.
Nested deep
like coal miner’s lungs
lost in the filth of our sleep.
God.
We said nothing.
Scooped away
our well of freedom
with dry, disbelieving lips.
God.
We said nothing.
Panicky moths
fluttering to flame,
delicate wings igniting.
*
Stirring and shrieking
below our shells
we can only guess
what men do,
worship,
believe,
sacrifice,
slay…
But in this;
the jolting arms of one,
we become childlike,
singing and vanishing
all at once…
O! The sheer astonishment
of our time!
Twisting on the world,
writhing and demanding,
jumping and coiling,
taking and yielding,
not what we’ve withheld of our gods…
but of ourselves.

THE WORLD HARVEST (Blog Against Theocracy part 2)
(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)
"This Republican Party of Lincoln has become a party of theocracy." U.S. Representative Christopher Shays, R-CT, (New York Times 3/23/05)
~
Theocracy is derived from the two Greek words Qeo/j (Theos) meaning "God" and kra/tein (cratein) meaning "to rule." The Reverend Rod Parsley, a champion of theocracy, or what he calls a "christocracy," told his congregation at the World Harvest Church, located just outside Columbus, Ohio, "Theocracy means God is in control, and you are not." more
The theocratic right seeks to establish dominion, or control over society in the name of God. The late D. James Kennedy, former pastor of Coral Ridge Ministries, called on his followers to exercise "godly dominion ... over every aspect ... of human society." At a "Reclaiming America for Christ" conference in February, 2005, Kennedy said:
"Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost. As the vice regents of God, we are to exercise godly dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors -- in short, over every aspect and institution of human society."
Twenty-five years ago, dominionists targeted the Republican Party as the vehicle through which they could advance their agenda. At the same time, a small group of Republican strategists targeted fundamentalist, Pentecostal and charismatic churches to expand the base of the Republican Party.
Today's hard right seeks total dominion. It's packing the courts and rigging the rules. The target is not the Democrats but democracy itself. more

4 bombs kill 178 in Iraq
By Sinan Salaheddin The Associated Press
Baghdad - Four large bombs exploded in mostly Shiite areas of Baghdad today, killing at least 178 people and wounding scores - the deadliest day in the city since the start of the U.S.-Iraqi campaign to pacify the capital two months ago.
U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates called the bombings "horrifying" and accused al-Qaida of being behind them.
In the deadliest of the attacks, a parked car bomb detonated in a crowd of workers at the Sadriyah market in central Baghdad, killing at least 122 people and wounding 148, said Raad Muhsin, an official at Al-Kindi Hospital where the victims were taken.
When sorrows come,
they come not single spies,
But in battalions.
-W. Shakespeare
They are scattered all around us
Smeared on windshields and sidewalks.
Look now upon your hands and feet;
The ashes of this unfortunate world.
Up and down the streets they blow
From church to church and home to home
Awaiting the repeat of solemn gunfire
To devour the bodies down in yearning.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones.
-W. Shakespeare
Coursing ever so steady comes our bewilderment
Leading us into much that is relief
For their names may well have been our own
Crouched upon the merciless floor.
It moves inside of us like some dead thing
Giving crumbs to nourish our imaginings
Of those and their private room of horror,
But all of our shelter is paralyzed by battle.
Give sorrow words.
The grief that does not speak
Whispers the o're-fraught heart,
And bids it break.
-W. Shakespeare
Calling out now to clergy our urgent need for comfort.
“Speak of God. Why didn't he hold him from this rage?
Shroud the dead, place his hand over their cowering?”
Now the answer we’ve come to cherish, “God’s plan.”
Thirty-three? What of one hundred and seventy?
Does God find them worthy of nails through their palms,
To suffer a hell that can't be quenched in daily loss?
They are scattered about with our fingerprints upon them
And, as with so much of our beauty, a gun takes them away.
Our nation is somewhat sad,
But we're angry.
There's a certain level of blood lust,
But we won't let it drive our reaction.
We're steady,
Clear-eyed and patient, but pretty soon
We'll have to start displaying scalps.

HOLY ABYSS
Christian law school
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- The title of the course (at the now ABA accredited law school) was Constitutional Law, but the subject was sin. Before any casebooks were opened, a student led his classmates in a 10-minute devotional talk, completed with "amens," about the need to preserve their Christian values.
"Sin is so appealing because it's easy and because it's fun," the law student warned.
Yikes. This would be laughable... except for the fact that it's just so damned, unimaginably frightening. Same with this video...
There is no such thing as separation of church and state in the Constitution. It is a lie of the Left and we are not going to take it anymore.-- Pat Robertson, address to his American Center for Law and Justice, November, 1993. Let's see, now: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." How could the prohibition against Congress making laws respecting an establishment of religion be anything but the separation of church and state?
They scream, "First Amendment." Of course, the First Amendment, as you and I both know, is a restriction on Congress.... So it really doesn't have anything to do with what you say or what I say, one way or the other.-- Pat Robertson, The 700 Club television program, December 10, 1990, deliberately misrepresenting what it means by "Congress shall make no law" by omitting mention of the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments, and yet sniveling about the Supreme Court's state-church decisions.
Rising like the cold grey breath of winter,
Praising "God" and life and death.
Their bones clack to Armageddon’s rhythm,
Their eyes perceive the Day of Judgment
Looming steady the bitter death of man.
Where is this rising of thy god?
Is it manifest in the blue?
Famine?
War?
Does it tread `neath the surging wave?
O! Bring out thy god and quench this thirst!
Summon thy god and feed this starvation!
O! Call unto it!
Have it burst forth and save the children!
Magnificent are men and women,
Humankind;
Mortal creatures and our gods.

TYRANNY
Nothing at present is foreseen.
Everything now is looming.
Within this; our heartrending time,
the stars crawl on hands and knees
from end to end,
inching toward the sun of man.
This arrangement of emptiness mouths
silent consonants in search of vowels
to fill empty words the size of the ocean.
The angels scour the floor of our living,
touching their wings against the waters,
their silence louder than tyranny.
It will be at the liquid birth of God
that the reverberations spring forth,
seeping across a new humanity.

(PROUD MIND) BILL DONOHUE
Crowding the air,
Your teeth, fanged relics,
Slanted, bent of intolerance,
And your proud mind
Fetches the face of wretchedness
With its leaching maw of foaming hatred…
After hearing you,
The first time,
I found my contempt unmasked;
You’re repugnant and false-hearted,
And most contemptible
For using your depraved dribble
To spackle the holes you’ve put in God...
DRIFTING UNDER THE SUN
VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia (AP) -- Evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson said Tuesday that God has told him that a terrorist attack on the United States would cause a "mass killing" late in 2007.
"I'm not necessarily saying it's going to be nuclear," he said during his news-and-talk television show "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network.
"The Lord didn't say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that."
Robertson said God told him about the impending tragedy during a recent prayer retreat.
God also said, he claims, that major cities and possibly millions of people will be affected by the attack, which should take place sometime after September.
The gleaming gates have again swung wide
On the godforsaken orb drifting under the sun.
We should not listen to indifference any longer.
We should not listen to those with god-smacking jaws.
We should not listen to those with money and interests.
We should not regard the voices in their slumbering lechery.
We should only listen to our gut, heed only our crimson center.
And we most certainly needn’t listen to Pat Robertson’s treachery.
If, since 9/11, terror’s been unleashed on America it has been this;
Fear of: mass killings, assassination, stroke, wrath, and vengeance.
The sermonizing, amplifying, braying man straps God to his breath
And beats down upon the heads of fools starving themselves of love.
"I have a relatively good track record," he said. "Sometimes I miss."
It is unmistakably and excruciatingly apparent that he is acting alone.
His ignorant congregations consume the roots of life’s emerald hours.
His god-smacking flock of cheerless sheep swill these tales of doom
Like children hopeful for candy or their warrior parent’s happy return.
Doom and gloom make a black gown for the gentle wind to wear
And useless tales of His spoken voice plow holes for its grave...
CLACK THE TEETH!

Jezebel is a figurative and spiritual name for us. The Thyratiran church continues to this day and the Jezebel spirit manifests herself in the church and reaches to the highest pinnacles of government. The prophecy of the tribulation is in these last days and includes the greater part of Christendom that has allowed idolatry and the Jezebel spirit to flourish in the church and subsequently into all areas of society. Without an attitude of holiness, grace turns into licentiousness. Jezebel by Jay Atkinson

CLACK THE TEETH
Under our blue sky
Swims a curious thing;
A monster soon born.
With their rifles aimed within
They clack their hate filled teeth
And with dreams shadowed in sin
Let fly self-righteous speech!
Airwaves wrangle of the unborn object;
“Who’s to blame?”
“It will be an evil thing!”
“Born of Lucifer!”
“Outrageous!”
“God will punish this nation!”
The two women, heavy-eyed,
(And cause of all this turmoil),
Wait for life to mount and come forth
With small hands and soul.
Proud and smiling- “They should be ashamed!”
“It will carry curses in the midst of saints!”
Buckled exactness shaped like pain
With its tiny hands-
“Stirring our waters into a rotting lake!”
O! God! God! Goddamn them!
Under our blue sky swims a curious thing;
A monster soon born!
People living backward will not stand for this!
They have plans for earth!
For our life!
For eternity!
O! A fine thing; their living!
A fine thing; their death!
“Stone these women!”
“Cut off their probing hands!”
“These Jezebels of gloom
Shall not bring a life here!”
Under our blue sky swims a curious thing,
Whirling, godforsaken, over a battling world!
In this time of war
We should welcome life…
Not condemn it!
And the cold faces of Christ need melt
And their hearts made softer
And their rifles
(Poised to murder, aimed)
Lowered
And for flowers exchanged.

TWISTED SENSE
(Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)
Christians have struggled with the issue of war for centuries. Before Jesus arrived on the scene, all good people wrestled with war and the existence of evil. Thankfully, the Bible is not silent on the subject...
...One of the primary purposes of the church is to stop the spread of evil, even at the cost of human lives. If we do not stop the spread of evil, many innocent lives will be lost and the kingdom of God suffers.
The above portion of a religious commentary is flawed in its logic. I have highlighted what I felt to be a few glaring examples.
Guns steadied,
Sky’s sapphire,
Shooter shaken,
Under firmament.
Twisted sense…
If, in the beginning,
We’d have only sent more death-
If, in the beginning,
We’d have only sent more to die-
If, in the beginning,
We’d have simply and entirely strafed-
If only we’d have merely flattened them,
All of their lives…
Twisted sense…
Tell me, O mighty war,
That they did not suffer!
Tell me, O potent combat,
That they didn't needlessly die
For your mantle and plot!
O! Imposing fortitude! Reckless courage!
Noxious warfare! Collateral death!
Twisted sense…
Tell me all the victims
(Guns steadied)
Of our sleet and storm
Suffer less now for it.
That our hands floating
(Under firmament)
Over the distant water have not
Fetched agony and terror
More than before…

"F" BASED FAITH
Nothing rankles my muse more than the use of God for political gain. (Nothing, except maybe political wars based on oily lies stemming from the God-smacking political gains of a man named G. W. Bush.)
When I saw Olbermann’s broadcast of the “Just get me an f*$#!ing faith based thing!” my muse reared her gorgeous head and said, “Write about that broadcast!...Now!”
Dead in the noisy church, in the
Universe of God, everyone's departed.
Down into the impartial ground
Old Christian men, women, dry-
Dried up bones left low in the world,
Empty souled dust and deceit
Writhing now evermore.
Hush! Not a pious sound!
Dead in the noisy worship, in the
universe of God, everyone's deceased.
Twisting expressions, scornful mouths,
Shush thy hastening there along the pew,
Under the baptism’s ocean, the green
grin of tooth-filled trickery under plush
dresses, pink skirts and flowery hats,
The posh suits, ties and gold and bursting coffers
and thy organ’s droning hell coiled to serpent’s tongue,
Hush thy kowtowing mouths! Hush!
Dead in the noisy church, in the
Universe of God, everyone's departed.
Lifeless in the cathedral,
Rotting in the hymnals,
The congregational affirmations,
Reverend, monk, priest and preacher
Calling out to thy listless sinnings
And the lick of flaming damnation.
Hush now! Hush now! Hush now!
Shush thy mouths and keenly listen,
God has something to say now
you might miss the truth within,
so hush thy "f" based-faith mouth...
Universe of God, everyone's deceased.

JESUS (PULP) CAMP
"Cut to the flickering images of children writhing in a spiritual trance on a chapel floor while being hectored about the glory of dying for Christ, and one knows exactly where the first Christian suicide bombers will come from."
"A frightening, infuriating, yet profoundly compassionate documentary about the indoctrination of children by the Evangelical right."
"JESUS CAMP should be seen as it demonstrates the extremes to which the Religious Right will go to push its agenda."
"A piercing portrait of innocence perverted."
"This isn't the blind leading the blind, but it is the visually impaired leading the blind. Disturbing."
"You don't have to be an extremist liberal to find any minute of Jesus Camp more frightening than the entirety of Village of the Damned." (Full Reviews)
"There's a passage I got memorized. Ezekiel 25:17. "The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you." I been sayin' that shit for years. And if you ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never really questioned what it meant. I thought it was just a cold-blooded thing to say to a motherfucker before you popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this mornin' made me think twice. Now I'm thinkin': it could mean you're the evil man. And I'm the righteous man. And Mr. .45 here, he's the shepherd protecting my righteous ass in the valley of darkness. Or it could be you're the righteous man and I'm the shepherd and it's the world that's evil and selfish. I'd like that. But that shit ain't the truth. The truth is you're the weak. And I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm tryin, Ringo. I'm tryin' real hard to be the shepherd." (Pulp Speech)
It is time to stand upon the path of the righteous man
To march Onward Christian Soldier to thy promised land
This ground is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish!
Come! Come, boys and girls, rave along with Pastor Becky!
Softly and Tenderly Washed in thy Blood
And the tyranny of evil men,
A fountain in the name of charity
And oil
And profit
And good will.
A spring of bloody sin
That needs shepherding still.
Washing away
Down in the valley of this;
Our darkness
Of How Great Thou Art.
Oh, Sweet Jesus!
Children, thy body is wrapped
In tainted flesh,
So march onward child
And let God have the rest.
O, Sweet sacrificial lambs,
Thou shall greet whitewashed terror
With thy own Godwrathful slant.
And thou shall relinquish
A Battle Hymn of the Republic
For mommy and daddy
And all your swell friends
Branded upon thy abused
And indoctrinated soul.
Pastor Becky
With thy Whole World in Her Hands
Has promised you things
You can’t understand,
And leads you into temptation
Of righteous death
And into an ache
For a candy-coated promised land
Lined with toy soldiers
And pink-plastic swords
And soft blankets
To lay thy bludgeoned head.
March along little soldier,
Jesus is calling thy name.
He’s made a list.
Praise God, he’s checked it twice,
Gonna find out if you'll live or die!
Pastor Becky, the true flock’s keeper
And god awful recruiter
Of bomb strapped children,
She will strike down upon thee
With great vengeance
And furious anger
If thou attempt to poison
And destroy her brothers and sisters.
And, children,
thou shall know the Lord
When he lays his vengeance upon her.
Come, nonbelievers,
Just a Closer Walk with Becky
And her Sweet Jesus!
Come children!
Bow to the spirit!
Kumbaya, God Bless America,
And that “my God is greater” shit!
The Blood of Jesus
Is waiting to be spilled
We Shall Overcome the day
When the Saints Go Marching In
Abide with Me and Come Thou Almighty King!
Thy bombs are louder than they!
Praise Him, Praise Him!
Sacrifice and die!
What A Friend We Have in Jesus today!
Children, Lord our Blessed Redeemer,
The Very Thought of them
Makes me want to cry!

BAGHDAD BURNING... OUR THROATS
This morning while responding to a Crooks and Liars post I found myself swept into a poem… The post was regarding a new play by Riverbend , a 25-year-old Iraqi woman living in Baghdad prior, during and after the invasion. It is dramatised by a cast of five young American actors. ( More of the review…)
My comment-
A play worth watching and remembering sounds like to me... Being a theatrical person I can say that the bit about history is more than just self-obsession...in most cases it is the way it is. Poetry, theatre, film, music, prose...somehow, some way, it all trickles down and into an artist's hands... Pompous sounding on the surface, but of what I have seen in my lifetime, it is the voice that at large would be unspoken, for, in many an instance, the words won't come out due to fear, pain, or intimidation... To hell with "patriotism" and all its foibles!

BAGHDAD BURNING...OUR THROATS
In the shading of your persistent speechless death
We cannot help be unsettled by your passion.
Now, just as the world boils, increased in suffering
Do we begin to sense brittle-boned-humanity.
A drama worth its ink, recoiled, unfolds inside us,
Leaping in our throats, coursing through our veins,
Diving deep, like a jilted lover’s plea, it swims through.
Wounded and yelping it tosses inside our existence
Telling us things we’d never tell ourselves...
The drama says, bring forth your lies
For they'll not penetrate truth.
Bring forth thy warmongering spirit
For it shall not dance.
It will flounder here... dreadfully.
Treading upon the boards, characterized as horrific,
Slumping; a dreadful creature, writhing, sweating
`neath the canopy of light.
The drama says,
Look! Look!
There you are, lumbering in final breath!
You coward!
You defiled wretch!
Bedraggled death!
Your countenance now but a shadow
As the lights begin to fade.
You may come cloaked in dream
But you’ve been seen
And we’ve felt your sodden breath upon our soul
From a city where no-one knows
If they will see another day.

RESCINDING PROMISE

If you read the... ...quotations from the Bible, which include all the verses that deal with the "Promise Land," you will realize that God has promised the Holy Land to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Israel). The promise was literally given to their descendants, not to the followers of any specific religion. These descendants, today, are the Muslims, Christians, or Jews who have been associated with the Holly Land for thousands of years. Most Eastern European and Russian Jews, for example, are descendants of people who converted to Judaism starting from the eighth century. Therefore, the promise does not apply to them because they are not descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However, the promise applies to descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who followed Jesus Christ and became the Christians of the Holly Land. The promise also applies to those Christians who, later, followed the message of Islam and became Muslims of the Holly Land. Thus, God's promise is for Jews, Christians, and Muslims of the Holly Land, not for other followers of these three great religions.
O! The Promised Land should never have been,
Never been pledged in the rescinding script of man.
These honorable descendants;
Isaac, Jacob and Abraham,
Do you know them?
All we can imagine is the depth of they're pain,
The pain of having been held in promissary note
That so many have died for
While pledged to a land
That should never have been.

Watching Lebanon
Two Fox News Journalists Kidnapped in Gaza
PROFIT MIRROR
Militarization of the Eastern Mediterranean
The bombing of Lebanon is part of a carefully planned and coordinated military road map. The extension of the war into Syria and Iran has already been contemplated by US and Israeli military planners. This broader military agenda is intimately related to strategic oil and oil pipelines. It is supported by the Western oil giants which control the pipeline corridors. In the context of the war on Lebanon, it seeks Israeli territorial control over the East Mediterranean coastline.
In this context, the BTC pipeline dominated by British Petroleum, has dramatically changed the geopolitics of the Eastern Mediterranean, which is now linked , through an energy corridor, to the Caspian sea basin:
"[The BTC pipeline] considerably changes the status of the region's countries and cements a new pro-West alliance. Having taken the pipeline to the Mediterranean, Washington has practically set up a new bloc with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Israel, " (Komerzant, Moscow, 14 July 2006)
Israel is now part of the Anglo-American military axis, which serves the interests of the Western oil giants in the Middle East and Central Asia.
Mighty man is a lie
Wrapped in mighty wars
With mighty blasting guns
Unafraid to have die
His god-jawed deed
Smothered in oily terror.
O! Petulant living!
Even my blind grasp
Of these words
Is no more than
A churning obituary
Held up
To fading mirror...
Man screams peace
While horrified from war,
Then dreams up wars
To profit oil’s raven.
Have we no more than ugliness
To bend our bodies back upon us;
Our war complete, our hunger fed,
Thirst’s tin cup filled with stones?
The man that says,
“War is the road to peace”
Is a fool and a coward.
Warring man is a liar
Wrapped in God’s breath,
Brandishing the mighty book
With oily, bloodstained hands.
Let us witness serenity approach,
Put our fingers inside her desperation
Falling from God’s deafening lips.
Grasping peace we can outlive war
And its dark pestilent dirge.
In peace we might cling tightly of love
Bending nearer of one another.

ENGAGE...NOT RAGE!

Our world is blessed with some truly world-class intellects. We must engage them to engage with us simple folk. We have brain power at our disposal and we need them dearly. Like say, Dr. James Zogby and Professor Juan Cole. We need you to teach and lead us. Engage with us and give us a hand. The politicians like say the Republicans and the Democrats and whomever can please excuse themselves right now. You’re not helping. As an example, how about Bare-ax Oh-bomb-uh and his wanton desire to blow the bejesus out of Iran. How does that help senator?
We need to engage with Hamas and Hizbullah and Syria and Iran and oh mercy, won’t that upset the creases in Karl Rove’s pajamas. George Bush is still to this very day trying dearly to figure out what exactly is a “Hizbullah.” Oh it’s true alright. Given that the deathly “al-Qaeda” is a CIA invention, do we continue on with a status quo or engage with Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri? Yeah, there’s death and horror on all sides of this current terrorist mess. The United States and Israel are as much “terrorist” as is the H, H, and al-Q axis of whatever. We must engage on all sides or fronts or what the hell ever. The current quagmire of comprehensive slaughter cannot continue. Jeez George, knock that killing crap off right now. You’re not helping. You’re hurting a lot of innocent folk and it’s no longer acceptable. That applies equally to Ehud Olmert. What is wrong with you? Jeez Hud, if you don’t want to talk with Hamas or Hizbullah, sit down and shut up. Let someone else give it a try. Professor Kwiatkowski? Paging Professor Kwiatkowski. America is waiting on you. Raimondo? Rivero? Jones? Sharpton? Dr. Dean, you need to sit down and be quiet. Anti-Semitic? You maudlin dope. What were you thinking? Were you thinking? Finally to that nice Saudi photographer lady, I’m still waiting for that call. We’ve a revolution to get started. Engage with me and let’s change the world. Scott...Ritter, where you at son? Don’t give up now. There’s work to do and our world needs your expertise. Richard Thielman? Where you at son? Come on we need you. Engage and that will be the hard part. For certain! (More...)
Flags again are sensed in our empty gesture,
Tied to so many unimaginable transport,
Stabbed in America’s brittle lawns,
Impaled deep in the freshly wet green of wealth,
Staggered and airless in the crying fields,
Flapped against pickup truck and Humvee;
Nationalism etched in freshly waxed exterior
To twisted frame of the fallen and dead ideals.
We are lifting broken families into the air
Aloft in the explosion of mourning
Without comprehending our rage.
The dead, suspended in bomb's brown sky.
Children are odes instead of laughter,
Funerals instead of schools,
As fear invades their ambitious eyes
Draped in the shadow of war.
We are lifting children up to casualty
While our flags they must be flying!
Hymns of righteousness must be sung,
Anthems exploded… void of comprehension.
Flags fan the air where shrapnel pierces,
Penetrates the steel shell of our lust,
Pitching compassion into the oily cloud
Racking torturous battles upon the world.
There is no national anthem or flag or war
That can lift the soil from off the innocent.
There is not a god with the claws of gravity
To raise this; our soulless murdering.
There is but one mercy for our violent flow;
We must erect a statue as high as the heavens
Made of all of our guns and tanks and bombs
And watch as, one by one, God molds them into stars...

GLEANING THE MYTH
Just who the hell do you think you are?
Coiled scale-up-snake on the heap of want,
Threshing down, down, down, down…
Over the back-snap-rape of one cell, one flesh.
Tell me just who the hell do you think you are?
Gleaning the myth of your shadowy scope, spittle down,
Down, down, down, down…
Stop your god-damned-marauding slaughter;
Your `if-it-suits-me-put-`em-to-death’ prattle!
You’ve not God tucked under your coat! God’s weeping mightily!
You’ve a small-g-god stuffed inside your loathe-filled-head!
You slaughter ideas, execute joy, and bend upright hope
And mold God into some monstrous slump-down-dreg!
Collateral damage will be your final stem-celled-shrieking,
You son-of-a-bitch!

One Veteran's Voice
Genius of Insantiy
According to acclaimed journalist and television host Bill Moyers,
"True, people of faith have always tried to bring their interpretation of the Bible to bear on American laws and morals ... it's the American way, encouraged and protected by the First Amendment. But what is unique today is that the radical religious right has succeeded in taking over one of America's great political parties. The country is not yet a theocracy but the Republican Party is, and they are driving American politics, using God as a a battering ram on almost every issue: crime and punishment, foreign policy, health care, taxation, energy, regulation, social services and so on."
