LAY THE WAR DOWN

(A Poetryman Video)

O lay the war down
Set it beneath the ground
Do not pick it up again
Lay the war down

Lay the war down
To it’s gravelly trough
Left low forevermore
Lay the war down

Lay the war down
Bury it under heavy clay
And beneath massive rock
O lay the war down

Lay the war down
Suffocate its panting rage
Cut off its bloody head
Leave it evermore

Lay the war down
Forever without sound
Silent of its horrid screech
Leave it underground

O lay the war down…

TREMBLING LOAM

Another poem culled from the past (with updated links)...

O spindling reason, close thy soiled and gruesome jaw’s
Surging rationale like a thimble of water to thirst;
We’ve no blood left to drip our cheerless dreams!

Dreadful is our cresting obsession with greed,
Horrible is our pale service to the lords of death
And monstrous our empire’s approaching fury!

The waters flow with the slake of our wickedness
And these vile works speed the thunderous fortunes
Of the sacred beasts come to change what we would not...

O why can’t we see that our indifference to rigid awe
Has the world’s doorways strangled with skeletons
And unearthed the creatures quivering wings?

Like a mother in the shadow of night we can, if we choose,
Erect a grand temple from out of our bosomed courage
And quell this; our trembling loam of mounting death!

GORGE

(Another poem from the archives (2006) originally titled "Dull Spark". I found it to be somewhat relative to our countries situation today...Maybe it's just me...?)

We only think we have a different story to tell,
but they're all the same;
just old blasted, worn-to-the-nub tales;
(Even a genius can think he's God.)

Our minds needn’t lead us through to our history’s end;
It is our hearts, the bloody, wildly beating, throbbing heart!
Not the brain with its monotonous weak-kneed glimmer.
It is the heart that must lead, take our hand
and guide us out the valley of our own shadow.

The heart, not our intolerantly pricked ear or roving eye
Or arching want against the smack of unholy greed,
and most certainly not our capricious and foul-fickled-soul
Stumbling for deities like some inebriated son-of-a-bitch!

We need our hearts to direct us safely `round this gorge.
The heart knows the outside of its host;
it knows we’re not fit to strike a goddamned match,
That we’re empty outside of it.

The heart knows that war may signal our end
and that collateral damage is a coward’s phrase.

It is our hearts, not our minds;
Our rotted head makes sport of death
and our lean souls tease the dwindling wit,
pokes, jabs at our churning gut
beckoning it come sit heavy upon our will.

Our hands, feet, arms and legs
Are only told to move in rage
when the heart’s gone missing.

AMEROTICA...

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)

Of this moment what is it that you want?

Her gallant nakedness clutching at flowers
and shaking herself upright again.

Her margins and chest filled with grand laughter
at the things she’s most ready to do.

Her eyes reading wonderfully tall and magnificent letters
dispatched from all points of her reach.

Her lips coursing a voyage over freedom with a blazing hope,
shaking the limbs of all dread-filled faces.

Her émigré colors moving together; loving, holding
one another in luscious, tender whispers.

To witness her thighs draped over our ready shoulders
as we seek out her yielding flesh.

The winged creature with her supple neck bent down,
smiling upon her just desserts.

Her rebellious shape hovering over the people’s hunger,
steadying herself for eager tongues.

That she rise up now, and with her flesh, wet and yearning,
Touch upon those most in need.

Her long and loving hands opening up to us in freedom,
lifting our sleepy faces to the sun.

I SERVED MY COUNTRY IN FOREIGN LANDS...

At whose behest?
Were they certain of your brilliance and aim,
assured that your bullet would find its flesh?
Who sent you there with gun and grenade?
Did they know that you were a skilled assassin?

Who brought you to such hunger?
A profound reverence for the motherland,
or payment for her freedom's wonder?
Can you even recognize her, is she the same
as before you sent another soul to grave?

Who moved you to it?
Some grand leader, father, teacher, God?
Did they too have your hardy thirst for war?
Did they follow you there, to the foreign pit,
into the fray, ready to exterminate their foe?

Who sent you to kill?
Did they ready your legs for such a slaughter,
prepare you to painfully die for your country?
Did your victims go staggering alone into the swill
or did they put their filthy mouths to the lips of war?

SKY CHURNED RAGE

(View the photomontage & read the poem)

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)

It was foretold that a redeemer would come with ice under her wings! It was said
that we’d bow to her charge, to her spellbound occasion and her frozen loyalty.
She came at the behest of the old man’s superiors, shaking the waters with her wing.
I have heard of this legend in books from a simpler time, back before the battle,
Before the ice came, after the storm of the century when this land was asleep.
Back when ghosts bumped along the tundra like herds of muskox, and the humans
were timid and easily gunned down by noble hunters with time on their hands.
Ghosts stalking ghosts, wandering pickpockets in a land that never again moved.

Sky-churned rage pushed by the rousing-deep and talons
Of blind eddies crept closer, carrying their god-awful devotion,
Pawing greed and desperation over any miserable wretch in their way,
Screeching “America is here!” and then severing her unfolded appendages,
Splattering their power over everything, warring, hanging, sucking
The very life out of weedier mongrels, slamming their godless love, raping,
Weeping their control and mercy, only to stack our heroes in the sand,
And consume Dear John letters demanding they give more of themselves;
Ordering them to smack evil’s round rump so the good and the righteous
Could remain innocent and the wicked could swill their unjust desserts.
It was a time to churn out flag-wavers and anthem choirs and flyers
With USA emblazoned on the sleeve of an eagle, and the limbless plea
Of soldiers in the wrong war for the wrong reasons with a heroes’ gaze
And a love of country and a hate of the world, spewing blood for ink, ghosts
For paper, and nationalism as lexicon while slumped in Superman’s wheelchair.
Audiences were rapt by the lies forced out of their mouths, dancing reality
Sucked under by the force of the flood and discolored by the blood-filled waters.
The storm of the century, manmade and ugly, smacked its oily lips over child,
Over everyone’s god, over love and honor and bravery and light!
The plummeting eagle was expected to make landfall and pierce the heart,
Tossing down its watery prayers as the people cried out from their sleep,
“Stay, naughty bird, your rape is done!”

AMANDA

Amanda,
I thought your loss was horrendous,
As an eye glimpsing war through a prism,
A safe distance, detached and far away.

Where I stood, the bombs seemed like deaf children
Franticly signing with their noiseless hands
Upon the streets of an obscure, idle freedom,
Where I tried desperately to speak to you,
Fumblingly reaching out like a blind man
Fending off a swarm of callous wasp.

Amanda,
You wouldn’t hear me, you couldn’t see me,
But I was there, screaming for you to live,
My tongue was as thick
As the pavement I stood on,
And my feet, as heavy.

My frantic cries were an unspoken plea
To the men with their hands on the lever,
To the heartless, the sightless warrior,
The squatting powers and bending earth,
To an unleashed evil where noise breathes
Like the cold-blooded machinery of ruin.

WAR ON THE ONE-EYED KINGS

In this; the blistering wave,
What is remembered but the last, the
Most recent detonation of everlasting war
Darkening even the most well lit sphere?
That which calls down its subjects
To deliver sermons on the back of the sun
For a people that believe in faith
More than themselves in the hearth of holiness
That goes unchained?
Anything less (or more)…
A fire burns.
Everything is contaminated, dirty. Terror is the cable
Which straps the bomb, fear; its cart.
The derelict move about,
Carrying on, as one-eyed kings and their henchmen,
Whose hands are honed into razors and
Whose hearts strike as drums echoing low the streets,
Chop the wooden throats of the guilty trees.
In this sphere
Hope shrinks of its throbbing bravery.
“This is no way to live!”
Explodes the seers.
“This is pure folly bathing in impure madness!”
But not to any invisible deity or dream merchant,
Like children holding hands praying to escape
The cynical hands of their fathers,
The gods of youth safely hold them.
The seers implore mankind,
Pleading that hope still flows with
Bright and igniting flesh
Retaining the power to bow humanity.
Of this authority we lend our flesh
For there is nothing else to save.
The only course to lift us out,
Up from soiled failure,
Above the turgid shackles
Binding our feet to war.
O! Let this be our mission!
Let it be our heartrending sermon
Running like rivers over our lips
Into the heart of every city,
Into the brightest lamppost-
"War must be shackled
And marched into the fire."

America's independence, her blessed sovereignty bursting at the seams!
This year’s commemoration will feel no different for me than the last;
Inglorious detonations heaving skyward like a sequence of car bombs;
Rockets red glare lighting the sky! O! How I tremble for my country!

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)

It is with a slow strangling
that tongues wag of gods.
And that floods come their raging,
tumbling between valleys,
seizing what’s in font of them
and not what’s prepared to go.
Each tongue’s a star.
Behold the light
quaking against the teeth.
Behind them whirl grand dreams;
tiny gods treading the water,
holding tight to hovering rooftops,
seeing familiar parchment drown
next to a child’s stuffed animal,
tiny eyes wet with grief
knowing it will float,
drift out to some sea
into a far-off port
worshipped by a child
wrapped in chains.

*
God.
We said nothing.
Nested deep
like coal miner’s lungs
lost in the filth of our sleep.

God.
We said nothing.
Scooped away
our well of freedom
with dry, disbelieving lips.

God.
We said nothing.
Panicky moths
fluttering to flame,
delicate wings igniting.

*
Stirring and shrieking
below our shells
we can only guess
what men do,
worship,
believe,
sacrifice,
slay…
But in this;
the jolting arms of one,
we become childlike,
singing and vanishing
all at once…
O! The sheer astonishment
of our time!
Twisting on the world,
writhing and demanding,
jumping and coiling,
taking and yielding,
not what we’ve withheld of our gods…
but of ourselves.

DOMI-NATION (Blog Against Theocracy Part 3)

The Despoiling of America via The Yurica Report

Theocracy...from their own mouths...
~(George Grant (The Changing of the Guard: Biblical Principles for Political Action )

"Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ -- to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness. But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice. It is dominion we are after. Not just influence. It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time. It is dominion we are after. World conquest. That's what Christ has commissioned us to accomplish. We must win the world with the power of the Gospel. And we must never settle for anything less... Thus, Christian politics has as its primary intent the conquest of the land -- of men, families, institutions, bureaucracies, courts, and governments for the Kingdom of Christ." ~Leo Strauss, the father of the neo-conservative movement

“One ought not to say to those whom one wants to kill, ‘Give me your votes, because your votes will enable me to kill you and I want to kill you,’ but merely, ‘Give me your votes,’ for once you have the power of the votes in your hand, you can satisfy your desire.”

~Pat Robertson on the Dominionist agenda
“Rule the world for God. Give the impression that you are there to work for the party, not push an ideology. Hide your strength. Don’t flaunt your Christianity. Christians need to take leadership positions. Party officers control political parties and so it is very important that mature Christians have a majority of leadership positions whenever possible, God willing.”and “We’ve sat idly by long enough and said, ‘Well religion and politics don’t mix.’ Don’t you believe it. If we don’t have moral people in government then the only other people that can be in government are immoral. That’s the only way it goes. Either you have moral people in there or you have immoral people.”

Billy Graham
“The time has come when evangelicals are going to have to think about getting organized corporately….I’m for evangelicals running for public office and winning if possible and getting control of the Congress, getting control of the bureaucracy, getting control of the executive branch of government. I think if we leave it to the other side we’re going to be lost. I would like to see every true believer involved in politics in some way shape or form.”

Ledeen (appeared many times on the 700 Club show during the 1980's

“The United States has to make clear to the world and above all to its own citizens, what our vital interests are. And then we must make it clear to everyone that we are prepared to fight and fight fiercely to defend those interests, so that people will not cross the lines that are likely to kick off a trip wire."
Ledeen

“In order to achieve the most noble accomplishments, the leader may have to ‘enter into evil.’ This is the chilling insight that has made Machiavelli so feared, admired, and challenging. It is why we are drawn to him still…”

Ledeen

“Just as the quest for peace at any price invites war and, worse than war, defeat and domination, so good acts sometimes advance the triumph of evil, as there are circumstances when only doing evil ensures the victory of a good cause.” ...All’s fair in war . . . and in love. Practicing deceit to fulfill your heart’s desire might be not only legitimate, but delicious!”
~
Gary North (a star polemicist of the Christian Reconstructionist movement)

"So let us be blunt about it. "We must use the doctrine of religious liberty to gain independence for Christian schools until we train up a generation of people who know that there is no religious neutrality, no neutral law, no neutral education, and no neutral civil government. Then they will get busy in constructing a Bible-based social, political and religious order which finally denies the religious liberty of the enemies of God."

~
Katherine Harris (Yes. That Katherine Harris)

"If you are not electing Christians, tried and true, under public scrutiny and pressure, if you’re not electing Christians then in essence you are going to legislate sin. They can legislate sin. They can say that abortion is alright. They can vote to sustain gay marriage. And that will take western civilization, indeed other nations because people look to our country as one nation as under God and whenever we legislate sin and we say abortion is permissible and we say gay unions are permissible, then average citizens who are not Christians, because they don’t know better, we are leading them astray and it’s wrong."
~
And those are the quotes I could find in a relatively short time (two clicks!)...Imagine the volumes of such language spread(ing) throughout the US...

BRIDGING WORDS

(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)

There is going gradually insane

There is even shelter from time to time
Maybe a canopy for the truth
(plagued by frauds)
Which is no one’s fault
They’ve only themselves to blame

Then there’s underneath the bridge
Which can be made to stay longer on the way
This particular variety’s imaginary
The idea is (was) to get homeless and insanity
To sound like the other
The words themselves to feel like the other
Roll off the tongue unnoticed
That way it’s easier to press closer
And everyone sounds mad

Then... create a subjective world
Where insanity is like apple pie
And only stares upon the grunt

The powers that be manipulating the machinations
Shall inevitably end up completely insane themselves
But with such influences upon language
They’ll continue to mock the destitute

Then… when all are reasonably and completely insane
We’ll not be able to tell the damn difference
This madness is the only kind we know

GIVING?

One indication of moral progress in the United States would be the replacement of Thanksgiving Day and its self-indulgent family feasting with a National Day of Atonement accompanied by a self-reflective collective fasting.

In fact, indigenous people have offered such a model; since 1970 they have marked the fourth Thursday of November as a Day of Mourning in a spiritual/political ceremony on Coles Hill overlooking Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts, one of the early sites of the European invasion of the Americas.

Not only is the thought of such a change in this white-supremacist holiday impossible to imagine, but the very mention of the idea sends most Americans into apoplectic fits -- which speaks volumes about our historical hypocrisy and its relation to the contemporary politics of empire in the United States. (More...)

Oh! I almost forgot!

Happy Thanksgiving!

INTIARTS

DO NOT WEEP

At night when we do not sleep
And the faces outstay their welcome,
When horrors touch our dreams
And we tremble their language…

The occupation of our hearts in sleep-
O! The assassination of souls!

And this; our death stained dreams
Carried by gloom nearer to us
Will ever be in attendance
If we nourish them in our days.

DISCOVERY

Native American Way
Why Autonomous AIM Opposes Columbus Day
and Columbus Day Parades ©
by Glenn Morris and Russell Means

When Taino Indians saved Christopher Columbus from certain death on the fateful morning of Oct. 12, 1492, a glorious opportunity presented itself. The cultures Europe of and the Americas could have merged and the beauty of both races could have flourished. Unfortunately, what occurred was neither beautiful nor heroic. Just as Columbus could not, and did not, "discover" a hemisphere that was already inhabited by nearly 100 million people, his arrival cannot, and will not, be recognized as a heroic and celebratory event by indigenous peoples. Unlike the Western tradition, which presumes some absolute concept of objective truth, and consequently, one "factual" depiction of history, the indigenous view recognizes that there exist many truths in the world and many legitimate recollections of any given historical event, depending on one's perspective and experiences. From an indigenous vantage point, Columbus' arrival was a disaster from the beginning. Although his own diaries indicated that he was greeted by the Taino Indians with the most generous hospitality he had ever known, he immediately began the enslavement and slaughter of the Indian peoples of the Caribbean islands. As the eminent Columbus biographer Samuel Eliot Morison admits in his book, Admiral of the Ocean Sea, Columbus was personally responsible for enslavement and murder of indigenous peoples. He was personally responsible for the design and operation of the encomienda system that tied Indians as slaves to the lands stolen from them by the European invaders. (More...)

Morris: How Columbus Day harms American Indians
Posted: October 04, 2007
by:
Glenn Morris

This column explains why Native people should resist Columbus Day, and why the rejection of the racist philosophy behind Columbus Day may be the most important issue facing Indian country today.

In Colorado, we know something about Columbus Day. We have been working for the past 18 years to dismantle this anti-Indian celebration. Columbus Day was born in Colorado in 1907, the first state to designate the holiday. Over the past 18 years, we have learned a lot about Columbus Day - its origins, its true meanings and its importance to U.S. identity and persistent anti-Indian racism. As a national holiday, Columbus Day has virtually nothing to do with honoring Italian heritage or culture, and it is not about celebrating mutually held values of decency, respect or justice. Columbus Day celebrates two critical developments integral to the establishment and advancement of the United States. First, it celebrates invasion and domination, especially of indigenous peoples' territories; second, and much more importantly, it celebrates the invention and the legal institutionalization of the ''doctrine of discovery.'' (More...)

IMMOBILE DESCENT

Robert Shetterly ...The second strong feeling --- the first being horror --- I had on September 11 was hope, hope that the United States would use the shock of this tragedy to reassess our economic, environmental, and military strategies in relation to the other countries and peoples of the world. Many people hoped for the same thing --- not to validate terrorism, but to admit that the arrogance and appetite of the U.S., all of us, have created so much bad feeling in many parts of the world that terrorism is inevitable. I no longer feel hopeful. If one looks closely at U.S. foreign policy, the common denominator is energy, oil in particular. The world is running out of oil. Political leadership that had respect for the future of the Earth and a decent concern for the lives of American and non-American people would be leading us away from conflict toward conservation and economic justice, toward alternative energy, toward a plan for the survival of the world that benefits everyone. We see hegemony and greed thinly veiled behind patriotism and security. We get pre-emptive war instead of pre-emptive planning for a sustainable future. The greatness of our country is being tested and will be measured not by its military might but by its restraint, compassion, and wisdom. De Toqueville said, “America is great because it is good. When it ceases to be good, it will cease to be great.” A democracy, whose leaders and media do not try to tell the people the truth, is a democracy in name only. If the consent of voters is gained through fear and lies, America is neither good nor great. Nor is it America.

Someone…something… has fallen to earth,
Tumbling from far above to the dismal ground.
Each year, as this moment comes `round, we are met
With its foul-smelling, screeching descent.

We’ve not made peace with this unknown,
We’ve not processed the quivering snapshot,
We’ve only erected monuments of its anger…

Again, as I see myself in its decline,
I am greeted by my own intolerable failings
Determined to shackle the thrashing legs
And bind the wrist to stale, bleached bone.

O! We are resolute each time it falls to us,
To the solid earth; her clattering,
To this determination; our held posture…

Into the costly void we go again,
Deeper than the last, pungent in our horror,
Overlooking embers of exactness that boil
Deep below this; our replicating defeat!

To annually pen an immobile descent
In godforsaken reverie of vengeance
Is more damning than this occasion…

O! We’re clothed in potency by tailored failings;
This unremitting plunge shall course our evermore
Save we excavate our mettle from `neath dread and death.
(Let us not be trapped under the ruins of our own collapse.)

Imperialism's Rant

What is one of the bigger problems facing the USA today?

-video removed by You Tube :>/-

All the products of people like Ted Nugent, and Ted Nugent, for he is a product of other "Ted Nugent’s", and they are all the byproduct of years and years of the (1) dumbing down of the American education system, particularly K through 12, (2) which includes the educators. They are a product as well of (3) the lack of any worthy historical perspectives and of (4) the growing divide and disconnect between the rich and the middleclass/poor.

(1) George W. Bush: “The illiteracy rate of our children are appalling.”

(2) The educators, both k-12 and college professors, are, in many cases just plain lazy and do not search for the truths under the sheen of their own phantom power, or they have incorporated the lies they’ve been sold into their own fixed paradigm of reality (truth) and then pass this “truth” down from generation to generation until the result is practically impossible to salvage and the “truth” is barely discernable from the lie.

(3) A byproduct of the entrenched lies is the inability for us to view reality with the educated perspective of our own countries history, especially the last fifty years of it. One mention of empire or atrocities perpetrated by the US government and you’re likely to be labeled a “traitor” or a “terrorist”, two readily lobbed words from those with no bona fide perspective.

(4) The divide of rich and poor and its inevitable disconnect are not just a result of “the way the ball bounced”, in other words they are not happenstance. They are a concerted effort to maximize empire. It is designed to line the pockets of the few and place the “slave” population in the untenable position of survival without turning to crime or escaping through drug use, which includes caffeine, nicotine, over the counter type drugs and the illicit types. It’s important to note that the imperialist gets richer from this scenario. Big pharmacy equals big money and is, in and of itself, a virulent and extremely profitable turntable of recidivism. Big Pharma is the energizer bunny for all the other imperialist corporations.

Ted Nugent and the gentleman featured in the video are the direct result of a concerted effort (imperialism) by the powers that be to reduce the debate in this country to a driveling, unimaginative, inane, rant. A rant that benefits neither the speaker nor the listener, all it does is create a greater ignorance and further distances any hope of our actually hearing “the truth”, or better yet, acting upon this truth when we do hear it.

There are also a good number of intelligent people in this country that are just as ignorant, some willful, others not, only these people have positions of power and influence which makes them all the more dangerous to the much needed truth.

Coming after these influential souls, are the true power brokers, the powers that be, as they are oft called. Whether they are the products of willful ignorance or just pure narcissists matters not, for they all stem from the same vine and they know precisely what their actions are producing. Take Iraq for instance; the occupation of Iraq may not seem as it has gone as planned, or even Afghanistan, for that matter, but in truth, it has gone masterfully well for the imperialists.
Follow the money.

It will take many, many years for Iraq to recover from American (imperialistic) intervention, yet, during this time, America will have placed itself strategically within Iraq’s borders and never give her the chance. The imperialist will allow her to resemble a beacon of democracy while not actually ever being one. Appearances can be rather deceiving, especially when viewed through the lens of empire.

The imperialist needs Iraq to be poor and vacant of resistance and empty of rebellious puppets like Saddam Hussein. The imperialist does not want an independent Iraq; it wants an Iraq that is a partner to “US interests” until the time comes that it is drained of any and all resources (oil) and no longer holds any strategic value, save for a pathway toward more conquests. For this reason it is logical, at least to the neocon, that Iran is next in line. It is not because Iran poses a real and lasting threat to its neighbors or to the American people, far from it. If anything Iran is a self-sufficient, self-sustaining state with no more of a crazed and evil man at the helm than has the US, more intelligent, yes, but no more sinister. Iran is self-sustaining and that doesn’t fit the imperial mold; any nation that does not readily allow empire’s temptress to climb into its bed (only to take all the covers) will not be tolerated.

So, as with Iraq, Iran is in the path of the only kind of empire there is; lethal.

If you are not aware that America is indeed a ruthless empire, might I suggest you begin listening to the voices of real power, I mean really listen! Stop merely ingesting their words as an inevitable path that the world is naturally taking and instead begin to dissect their words, test them, and weigh them against the actions of their orator. It matters not the speakers party affiliation, their gender or race or color or religion, for empire recognizes and is allegiant only to empire. The only question that truly matters when it comes to the voices of real power, do their words, combined with their actions, benefit the entire peoples of this world?

Here is my gut and head talking and listening and my eyes witnessing:
Iraq was never meant to be a beacon of democracy for the Middle East to emulate. Never. It is merely a stepping stone for the power hungry elite and has all the bloody markings of empire on the march. It cannot end well, not for the people of the world, unless we begin to listen and act- now...

They Scream Jordan

EXPAND THE POST +/-
is USA river
selling salvation between
Western Auto
and Mike's bar.
There's no Jordan
on Main Street,
only a river of pick-up trucks
and beaten Chevrolets.
At night, it's a river of fire
rolling on and on
past x-rated movies, pawnshops
drug stores and hot dog stands.
All night I sit, drinking
vodka in Mike's bar,
waiting for Dostoevsky
to rise with the heavy smoke,
to come alive
in the voices of the room.
The woman next to me says, It's war
out there. At dawn
I return to sleep
all day,
to dream Jordan.
Over my roof,
the whole sky is burning.

LEAVE

EXPAND THE POST +/-
(A Poetic Justice Photomontage)

We are happy that we got rid of Saddam but we will never be happy to give away our country in return.
Sorry if our flesh harmed your knives... is that what they want us to say. Is this what they came for?
The failure of this invasion is a victory for FREEDOM and a defeat for radicals in U.S. and later in Iraq.

Order the troops to leave Mr. President. afraid for the safety and the future of this place... leave 20 thousands of your soldiers on both Iranian and Syrian borders and let us take over our own country. THIS COUNTRY WILL BE FREE... whether you take your troops out now or by the efforts of the good people of Iraq and America. Sooner or later they will leave, and Al Qaeda will be defeated by the efforts of the good sons of Iraq... by the way, the state dept. must coordinate with the immigration guys to issue the Iraqi politicians visas and residency in U.S. (off course many of them have US passports as you know so those dont need these arrangements).

After reading this post I responded thus…
Hope you and your group are safe and sound as I write this.
There is no greater heartache I would imagine than to watch all this unfold in your
own homeland. The death alone is staggering. To watch as your culture is torn away
for oil; for hegemony. You can disregard those that say you are foolish to want the
US to leave for it is the only way your country will heal. The delusions of Bush and
his supporters will soon find themselves hungry with regret and filled with sorrow.
Your post has stirred my muse and she is stringing words together for my next post.
I will spread your message far and wide. It is perhaps the most worthy message for
it weeps for true freedom and with the knowledge that only those experiencing such a boiling heartache could possibly understand.

Peace,
Thepoetryman

The following poem was inspired from my visit to Inside Iraq.

Leave

Grown teeth and groomed black box
Lighted by the sun’s last step
Moving with a whales majesty
Through the wary sea of red streets.
The royal land now grown slack
To the weight of screeching blasts
Through all the black occupied days
Where shrapnel and glass trump flowers
In all the gardens of home; as your heart
Wants you spirited and questioning this lifting
Of your children, of your people in the dry
Wash of stale munitions; the national pride
Of youth rearing up in bloody rebellion
Against those that would call them sons and daughters.
Alone you can snap it off, pierce the bloody boil
Growing in the teeth and black boxes covered with soil.
This last step is pointed at the fuming flames
And asking, imploring of them to leave.
